Food tourism seminar for Ballina

MayoNorth.ie and Ballina Chamber are hosting a food tourism seminar in the Great National Hotel Ballina, on Tuesday March 28 at 9.30am, and are inviting all types of food businesses in Mayo and west Sligo to attend. The seminar and networking event, proudly supported by Michael Carr Foods, Ballina Chamber, Bunzl McLaughlin and the Great National Hotel Ballina is part of a drive to highlight and develop the food offering locally, and to emphasise the significant value to the hospitality and food industries of food tourism, and the importance of using local ingredients to convey a sense of “place on a plate”, by offering fresh, locally sourced, seasonal food. Recent research conducted on behalf of Failte Ireland showed that holidaymakers in Ireland spend close to €2 billion annually on food and drink during their stay.

North Mayo restaurants showcase artisan ingredients to drive tourism

A group of restaurants in north Mayo has come together to promote the food offering within the region, highlight the use of local ingredients, and showcase their relationships with artisan producers from the west of Ireland.

Mayo North tourism expo hailed as a great success

MayoNorth.ie along with Ballina Chamber and Tourist Office held its first tourism expo, entitled ‘Meet Mayo North’, last week in the Ballina Manor Hotel. The expo was designed to give businesses and community tourism groups operating in the north Mayo/west Sligo region an opportunity to showcase their business to the public, and to network with other tourism operators. The event was a big success, with more than 50 exhibitors taking a stand in the stunning Ridgepool Room to showcase their tourism offering, as well as representatives from Failte Ireland, Mayo.ie, Gnó Mhaigh Eo, Mayo Paradise Possible, and Mayo Chamber in attendance.

MayoNorth.ie and Ballina Chamber are hosting a free informal tourism expo taking place in the Ballina Manor Hotel from 10am to 1pm on Tuesday next May 24. The event is designed to showcase the tourist offering throughout the Ballina Municipal District and Enniscrone.
